It's been a year now since I started working for Atlanta Gastroenterology and going on two years since we moved into our own apartment. Tony's looking for a public school job -- two years at Hidden Lake Academy have been more than enough. We have a new kitten named Chloe. Hopefully, I'll manage to make a page for her in the near future. I've got to get my computer up to par first, tho. I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows recently and haven't quite worked out all the kinks yet. Very time-consuming!
Any other news???
movies: loved Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Last Samurai and Big Fish. LOTR was naturally wonderful, too. Can't wait for the next Harry Potter movie!
TV: we were so sad to see Buffy end, but really enjoyed the 100th episode of Angel this week. We're in the midst of "Survivor fever" again. Also enjoy ER, Tru Calling, Joan of Arcadia and Charmed.
I've taken up crocheting and have started scrapbooking again. Chloe inspired me to get going with that!
Well, that's about it for now -- time to go home :)

Just made two additions to our webhumor page. First of all, there is The 23rd Psalm for the Work Place. Secondly,
Psyciatric Hotline. Hope you enjoy them. Gotta go watch Survivor!

Hey all. We just finished watching a dvd on our new dvd player thanks to Dave, who hacked it so that we could use it with our set up. Hurrah for Dave! It is so sad that we no longer live next door to Dave, Victor and Dean because they are the best neighbors....anyhow, check out Dave's website, specifically his list of things he hates about Atlanta (under "about me"). We sooo agree!
Also check out the viking kitties at rathergood.com. Last week they were singing Led Zepelin's "the immigrant song." Don't know where that went, but they are still on the site and you can buy t-shirs even. Tony has one...
gotta go watch the oscars....

I haven't updated in a while and we've had a few changes. Tony and I moved into our own place in July (actually, Tony moved while I was in Chicago seeing Neil Finn). Mom and Dad are moving next week since they finally sold their house. Dad's retiring from Heart of Atlanta and will be working part time as a consultant.
I started a new job January 2. Now I'm working at Northside Gastroenterology. It's a MUCH less stressful job than what I had before and I can have a life now -- which is nice.
Tony's still at Hidden Lake Accademy until August. He has taken the Praxis and is now pretty much certified to teach German. He'll be looking around for other schools for next Fall because the commute to Dahlonega is killing him.
That's about all the news that's fit to print :-)
Saturday, June 8, 2002; 08:53 p.m. Artifex Studios & Design
Jeff and Amy have been busy and have put their business on-line at www.domusartifex.com. There you will find Jeff's custom iron work and drawings, Amy's jewelry and paintings by Amy's father Berry Nehr (known for his museum murals). In the not too distant future, Jeff plans to launch a on-line comic book there as well.

Oh Boy oh Boy -- Finndy City again!
I just ordered my ticket to see Neil Finn in Chicago next month!!! It'll be a much needed vacation for me -- I hope to go to the Minneapolis show, too, and visit with Elizabeth Kimber, there. Of course, I'll see friends in Champaign, too. I'm soooo excited!
The sad thing is that Tony won't get to go (well, probably not) since he's got a new job (yeah!) as a teacher at Hidden Lake Academy in Dahlonega -- he's teaching German and Latin to kids with "defiance issues" . He likes it pretty well and it's a step towards certification and High School teaching experience, so he'll have the chance to maybe find something better next year, if he wants to. Since, he's the "new kid on the block" though (he just started in May) he won't get to take off during their summer break (at the end of this month) nor take off to go to Chicago with me. But, we are planning on moving into our own place in a few weeks which makes him about as happy as going to this concert makes me! LoL
My job has become more stressful rather than less -- if things don't get better soon, I'll be looking for something elsewhere, which is sad since I love the people I work with. But, at least I have something to look forward to in the near future and that always helps!

No more lady of leisure -- I am one of the working now. I started actively looking for a second job a couple of weeks ago and got a call from a doctor's office last week. They wanted to see me right away and things clicked right away. I started this week working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday -- same next week since I wanted to give Borders two weeks to change me from my Sunday, Monday, Thursday schedule. I'm working for two lady internists at Piedmont Hospital and they're really nice. There's a lot of turnover in the office right now -- the practice has been there for a long time even though these doctors have only been there a few years and some of the office staff has been there forever and are retiring. We're just getting into scheduling on a computer (medimac) rather than in a book and all sorts of nifty modern things like that. It's going to be difficult in the short run -- really hectic and disorganized -- but in the long run, I think it'll be good. In any case, they pay about twice as much as Borders....
I'll miss Borders, but hope they'll let me stay on every other Sunday so I can keep my discount and earn a little money (which they'll get back because of said discount ;-)
Meanwhile, nothing permanent for Tony, but he's been really busy and has some new stuff going on for him, too. Last week he started teaching/tutoring for Park Academy (test prep mostly). He also started working part-time at PetSmart [they were really happy to have someone who'd pass the drug test!] He's also started getting some more translation in -- January was a dry month and he worried about $ a lot -- he really wants to move out into our own apartment! (:
Tony's also gotten into the alternative teacher certification process. Hopefully something will work out well for him.
In the meantime, we won't be seeing much of each other the next few weeks.

Home For The Holidays
Well, we're still at mom and dad's -- almost can't believe that it's taking us this long to get back on track, but we're all enjoying each other and it'll be nice to spend the holidays together...
Mom went through knee replacement surgery this week and is happy to have us around during her recovery. Our sofa is coming in handy, since she can't make it up the stairs, yet. Although it is difficult to see her in so much pain right now, we are optimistic that this is going to mark the beginning of a new life for her since her mobility has been so limited for such a long time.
Congratulations to MJ and Jim on the birth of their new son. Joshua Licht Witte is incredibly adorable and we are extremely proud! Wish we could be there...
I'm still working at Borders here in midtown. [we finally got the kids section looking nice] Tony's been working a lot -- all freelance. We hope that something permanent will work out in the near future. He's been enjoying the work he's done lately for Intermark. They treat him very well and the material has been interesting (lots of Swedish).
I have to admit it, but I finally caught the Harry Potter bug. Started reading the books about a month ago while on break at work and am hooked. I saw the movie on the first Saturday with my dad (Tony was in Baltimore for work) and then on Tuesday with Tony. Of course, we're really looking forward to Lord of the Rings!!!
Wishing you all happy holidays!
